Working Out Indoors

Living in Denver means that sometimes you just aren't going to be able to easily workout outside. Most of the time we have beautiful weather here but this week isn't cooperating with me.

I am more than happy to run in the snow

But I have a bike two hour hill workout on the schedule tomorrow. I don't like to bike in the cold let alone ice and snow. I was really hoping to get the new steed out on the roads tomorrow but it's not going to happen. I am a little sick of my trainer so decided to head to the gym to spin on my own for an hour then take a spin class. The cherry on top will be a yoga class when I am done. While not what I wanted to do I am accepting it and looking forward to it a bit.

What are your thoughts? Is working out inside as good as outside?

  1. The only indoor workout I can actually convince myself to enjoy is spin classes. Otherwise I'd rather be outside!

Good luck with your modified workout tomorrow. The snow sure is pretty and rather needed, but it does throw a wrench into training schedules!

  2. Indoors at least sometimes is just a fact of life. I don't think of them as better or worse. When I'm indoors I work on the things that can be done well indoors (swimming, specific spin stuff, core/yoga) and when out doors do the longer bikes and runs. On the right days, outdoor yoga is awesome.

  3. The weather this weekend has not cooperated but it sounds like you have a great plan.

  4. You can be really effiecient training indoors. The BF says that 2 hours on the trainer is like 3 hours outside because there is no stopping. Luckily I was in Florida last weekend and missed out on the latest winter weather :P

What trail is that you're running on???
